Το δικό της σύστημα ανακοίνωσε η Audi για αυτοκίνητα όσο πιο infotainement γίνεται…
Και με χρήση του Nvidia Tegra πακέτου τεχνολογίας, κάτι που η Audi ενσωματώνει το MIB infotainment σύστημα. Ονομάζεται MMX και η Nvidia λέει πως είναι ένα modular σύστημα που θα αναβαθμίζεται: “Nvidia’s modular VCM approach lets companies like Audi quickly move from a Tegra 2 processor, to a Tegra 3 and beyond,” λέει ο κος Taner Ozcelik, ο καθ’ύλην αρμόδιος της Nvidia και general manager στο automotive τμήμα της: “Never before has an automaker been able to deliver a new generation of consumer electronics technology within such a short time.”
Το να μπορεί μια εταιρία, όπως η Audi, να αλλάζει επεξεργαστεί να εκτελεί reengineering και να δουλεύει σε δύο product cycles είναι εξαιρετικά ενδιαφέρον:
“The new modular approach allows us an independent evolution of automotive-cycle and consumer-electronics-cycle multimedia systems so that we can implement the latest and greatest innovations that allow the best possible customer experience with infotainment in the vehicle,” είπε ο κος Mathias Halliger, υπεύθυνος της Audi για MMI infotainment που περιλαμβάνει: Audi connect, νέο Google-powered information σύστημα, Google Earth και Google Maps images, το 360 degree Street View panoramas, Google Local Search με weather forecasts, τιμές καυσίμου και άλλα.
Θα μπει πρώτα στο A3 και ήδη μπαίνει σε μερικά Volkswagen και Skoda.
