Όλα αυτά στο σημερινό Metal Gear Anniversary event στο Tokyo με φωτό να έχουν το slogan “Metal Gear Solid Hollywood Movie”, αλλά και το Columbia Pictures logo, το στούντιο της Sony Pictures.
Ο Hideo Kojima επιβεβαίωσε πως ναι, υπάρχει ένα Metal Gear project ταινίαας με τον Avi Arad σε παραγωγή και ο Arad παρουσιάστηκε με τον Kojima, λεγοντας: “For many years I fought to bring comics to theaters—and video games are the comics of today.”
“We will take our time and tell the story with all the nuances, ideology, cautionary tales needed, ” Arad added.
This isn’t Arad’s first video game adaptation. He’s also been attached to the Uncharted and Mass Effect movie versions—movies that have not gotten made. Some of his greatest success, however, has been in bringing Marvel comics to the silver screen. “Comic books are now biggest genre in cinema,” είπε και πως “Video games are the comic books of today.”
Ο Kojima δε μίλησε και αγαπημένες ταινίες του από την Columbia όπως τα Stand by Me και Taxi Driver ενώ μίλησε και για αγαπημένους του ηθοποιούς όπωςο Matt Damon, ο Hugh Jackman και Ben Affleck με τον Christopher Nolan ως σκηνοθέτη.
