Το καταπληκτικό αυτό κτίριο της εταιρίας MVRDV είναι ένα σχέδιο που θα ετοιμάσει ένα “mixed-use office building”. Με μια “‘crystal rock’ facade”, πραγματικά συγκλονιστική πρόσοψη, ένα “hollowed-out pixelated core” το έχει παραγγείλει η γερμανική RVI και είνα ιτο concept που θα αρχίσει να ετοιμάζεται στ Esslingen της Γερμανίας το 2020. Τι χρήση;
Θα είναι ένα “public amenity for the city” τοπόσημο που θα ετοιμαστεί στην περιοχή Neue Weststadt με 70,000 τετραγωνικά πόδια “mixed-use space” σε 12 ορόφους. Το όνομα του: “The Milestone,” ενώ θα βρεί κανείς καφέ, εστιατόρια και meeting areas.
“This building shows Esslingen to people all who pass by on trains and will become a new symbol to reflect its past heritage and future,” λέει ο συνιδρυτής της MVRDV κ.Winy Maas. “The façade with fritted glass will have QR codes integrated on to it informing visitors about Esslingen’s people, landscape, and histories which makes the building an interactive library for all.”
“The Milestone’s part mirrored-transparent façade integrates technology and sustainability with the use of fritted glass to reduce overheating, PV cells to store and generate energy, and finally, QR codes which carry information about the city in a pixelated map spread across the building making it both visible and readable,” λέει το επίσημο δελτίο τύπου της MVRDV.
