Οι Αμερικανοί πρέπει να αντικαταστήσουν τα B-52 Stratofortress, B-1 lancer, και B-2 Spirit.
Όσο και να είναι το B-52 over-engineered, όσο και να το πετάνε σήμερα τα εγγόνια των αρχικών πιλότων (!), το Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office των ΗΠΑ θα τα αντικαταστήσει με το πρόγραμμα Long Range Strike Bomber program (LRS-B)
Το B-21 αναμένεται να μπει σε υπηρεσία το 2025. “The Air Force is pleased with how the program is moving forward,” λέε η Air Force Secretary κα Heather Wilson. “The B-21 Raider program is on the right track to make continued progress over the next few years as it now transitions from the design phase into a robust manufacturing phase that will ultimately produce our first B-21 test aircraft.”
