Η γερμανική εταιρία ηλεκτρικών taxi, η Volocopter, ολοκλήρωσε μια συμφωνία με την Geely Technology Group, που περιλαμβάνει παραγγελία για…
…αριθμό ηλεκτρικών urban air mobility ταξί.
Η κοινοπραξία των Volocopter και Geely Aerofugia, η Volocopter Chengdu, υπέγραψάν για 150 Volocopter electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) με την Volocopter Chengdu να έχει και επίσημα την παραγγελία πια στις 22 Σεπτέμβρη 2021.
Τα ηλεκτρικά ταξί θα φτάσουν μέσα στα επόμενα 3 με 5 χρόνια στην αγορά. “Today marks another important milestone on our journey to bring affordable electric air mobility to China, the biggest single market opportunity for the UAM industry,” είπε ο Volocopter CEO κ.Florian Reuter. “With the joint venture company up and running and Daniel Li Donghui as the new Geely representative on our Advisory Board, we are in pole position to introduce air taxi services globally in a safe, sustainable, and practical manner.”
Η JV θα έχει έδρα την Chengdu, πρωτεύουσα της επαρχίας Sichuan όπου η Geely έχει κατασκευαστική βάση.
Η Volocopter έκανε την ανακοίνωση στις 22 Σεπτέβρη 2021: “This production agreement will strategically satisfy the fast-growing demand for air taxi services after commercial launch in China,” είπε η Volocopter σε δήλωση της.
Ο πρόεδρος της Volocopter Chengdu, Jing Chao είπε πως η συμφωνία θα επιταχύχει την αγορά των urban air mobility (UAM): “UAM is an important part of the new aviation industry, which coincides with Aerofugia’s technical route and business plan of ‘new energy, vertical landing and take-off, and autonomous driving.’”
Η Volocopter εκτέλεσε την πρώτη πτήση με προσωπικό του ηλεκτρικού multicopter της το 2011 και από τότε έχει εκτελέσει ακόμη και αυτόνομη eVTOL πτήση στο Ντουμπάι το 2017 αλλά και δοκιμές στην Σιγκαπούρη το 2019.
